Hi all,I've got an issue with trying to connect to remote print servers via Print Management. These 'remote servers' are actually just workstations where I'd like to manage printers, drivers, ports, etc. I can add these workstations to the Print Servers list in Print Management, but for each category all I see is 'There are no items to show in this view'. Also, after a few seconds, I get the error 'Server properties cannot be viewed. Double check the printer name and make sure that the printer is connected to the network.' I've read a few articles on this and for some this seems to work flawlessly, so I'm not sure why it's not working for me.

I've tried disabling Windows Firewall, enabling Remote Registry on the workstations, etc. Usually when I'm trying to connect to a workstation it is from the DC and I've verified that DNS is resolving correctly in each case. Anyway, any insight would be greatly appreciated. Oh, the server where I'm trying this from at the moment is 2012 R2 and the workstations are Windows 7. AV is Webroot. Thanks! Resurrecting an ancient thread for a good cause lol I just spent 2 hours trying to figure out how I had done this before because I need to use it at my new job. You have to enable remote administration and I think turn on the GPO to allow spooling via network connection.

I also had to restart the services for print spooler and WinRM and RPC (may not have needed all of them but that's what I did. Here's the firewall adjustments I make to get the remote admin and WMI working (used this for much more than just printers). These are the commands, you can't run these via psexec though, I used a deprecated tool from EMCO called Remote Console to run them remotely but probably better off using remote desktop and running them.
